I don't think there are a lot of people that aren't colour blind that actually know what it is and how it effects sight and everything around you.
My colour blindness gives me a limited colour pallette, normally I can't separate green from brown or yellow from orange or pink from red or blue from purple, colours that look too similar are hard to distinguish from one colour to the other and slightly  lighter shades of colour are virtually hard to see.
To actually paint anything I have to experiment for hours until I'm satisfied that it looks remotely like what I'm seeing but even then it's still never and will never be the perfect colour, it takes a lot of hard work and determination to even sometimes paint what looks like the easiest things and to paint something that to me would look great takes a lot of will power to just keep going when I keep telling myself I just want to give up which I do on many occasions  but I just keep going even if what I'm doing seems impossible to me.
Painting to me is one of the hardest challenges I've ever taken in my life but also the most rewarding when I can look at a painting and think I actually did that.
